Book requests search, one-click download, booklists and other visual improvements
Hello, Zlibrary community!
Time for other updates about our library. Since our last blog post, we've spent more time on technical improvements than visual changes, but we still have a lot to share with you.
The long-awaited book requests search option. Now you can find a request by ISBN, book title, author, or publisher.
We also brushed up the form of adding new requests and fixed the flaws of the previous version.
If you read the last blog post you know that we have added "Save for later" and "Add to Booklist" buttons right to the search results page. On second thought, we added the same functionality to the Recently added and category pages for quick access to these options (only on hovering and for registered users).
Even though we mentioned earlier that we definitely wouldn't add a "Download" button to the search results page, after thinking it over again we decided to add it! Now premium users can download the book directly from the search results page. The cherished button is hidden under the file extension. Note that you can only download the original file format, and if you want to convert or send the book to kindle/email, you still have to open the book page.
In the end, our Team apologizes to users who have some books missing from their booklists. Unfortunately, the books disappeared from the booklist due to a technical error, but they are still available on the website. This bug has been successfully fixed, however, books cannot be restored automatically, but you can still re-add them. To apologizes for this serious mistake, we provided such users with a premium account and increased the daily download limit. We're very sorry about this situation and hope you will be able to replenish your booklists.
Update (01 September 2021): Unfortunately, we were not able to identify all the users who had books missing from the booklist. If you have encountered this problem, please let us know at support@bookmail.org
Without ending on a sad note, I'll tell you a secret: big changes to the Booklist are coming! There will be personal and public booklists, and you will have more tools to work with them. I won't reveal all the trump cards, you'll see for yourself :)

Hello! I made a request for Douglas Kennedy "Afraid of the light" the other day. Today the book appeared on your library. I was very pleased with that, but it soon turned out that the version available was only two thirds of the book; the last third missing - a ploy by Random House Penguin books. So sadly, my request still stands.

Help my search box is stuck on 2020 and will not reset back to any year. The search box is useless. Can not search for books. This happed before but it was stuck on 2019 but some one fixed it. I loved the extra feature that you added where you can search by year. I use it all the time. Susan

That's a excelent good work you guys do here, don't even know how you can keep this many ebooks in a large pool of formats with such good quality. By the piracy means, I want to say that I buy the books that I've downloaded, whenever I can. REally hope you can keep this work.
By esthetical means, you could implement a dark mode. I really hate this bright evironmrnt. Not that it is bad, aesthetically speaking, it's just a preference.
Another thing could be a online reader for quick researches.

I use this site because most books I want are not even available in PDF or EPUB. So, I go to the websites of the authors and give a donation of what I would have paid for the book. I am so thankful I have the means to do this. I realize everyone doesn't have the means to repay the authors-- But if you can, I encourage you to do so. Peace

I would like you to add a list of other files with the same name as this book under each title. I tend to collect books in epub format, and whenever I find a book on the site, I manually search to see if it is available in epub format. I also noticed that the "save for later" button in the search list has been removed, which makes it a bit tricky to use.
Did you do this because you don't want us to save a book without checking Info? If that's not the reason, I like the original feature and hope you'll put it back.

I am reading in previous comments that the site was crashing, with the 404 error. I am noticing an unusual number of downloads that produce an "ERR_INVALID_RESPONSE"; about half a dozen in the last few days. Is it part of the same problem that still persists? Should I report them?

Anyone know if there’s a site like this that has e-audiobooks?
I download and read books through SpeechCentral version 10.90 which has a text-to-voice feature but it is really just computer-generated audio.

I am currently using the Z-library in which I find a lot of papers of interest for my research work. However, I wonder whether it would be possible to upload (in place of download) publications which are in my personal computer in the form of scanned reprints or hardcopies but are no longer available online when published in dead journals or in books now out-of-print. Within my research field I am thinking in particular to the journal PEDOBIOLOGIA (before 2000) where a lot of seminal papers have been published, now unavailable to most young scientists, and many other publications of utmost interest to the scientific community but only available in printed format in universitary libraries. Do you think I could do that for the Z-library and, if yes, how can I manage that?

@Jean-François Ponge: Yes, of course you can upload your own files to Z-Library. Just click on the icon in the upper right corner (the three little lines) and go to the first option "Add books". There you can add the documents you want. I hope this was helpful.

Details of the article cannot be provided in the correct format: title OK, authors OK, but not for journal name, volume, issue and pagination, which are absent? @Jean-François Ponge: Ok, I got confused. I hadn't realized that on https://booksc.org/ (the journal article section) you can't upload files. I'm not part of the Z-Library team, I just thought I would be helpful; although I just read in the "Reward system" section it says: "Memo for uploaders: Do not upload comics, magazines, articles, lectures, school/student materials, etc. (...)". It would seem that it is no longer possible; hopefully someone with more knowledge will confirm.

Saved books are now in Favorites. Clicking the "heart" in that display list removes the book from the Favorites list. It's a bit difficult to ADD books to the Favorites list, at least for me. There's no "Save for Later" button when looking at an individual book, unless that book is in one of your personal lists.

@TheGrandAdmiral. Yes, it's happened to me a couple of times. Unofficially, I fixed it by going to my download history, selecting a book (going to its link) and hitting download again, with my daily download limit already exceeded. I get the page that can't download it and when I go back to my account, the marks are back. I hope it works for you too.

On the with September, 2021 a friend made the donation of $5.00 on my behalf as she included my email address and informed the relevant authority about the donation. I am still only allowed the 10 per 24 hours to download books, she even said that she would do a larger donation, I told her to hold her hand as there is no indication that you all recieved the donation. Be careful people! I am one of the authors getting ripped off by this company essentially giving away 3 editions of a book that we've worked on for over 7 years, thus depriving us of the royalties that come from publication of works of art or literature. Downloading our book is a violation of U.S copyright law, and substantial penalties can be assessed against this company and all who participate by illegally downloading copyrighted material. If you remember Napster, some people who illegally downloaded music ended up paying hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines and damages to the artists whose works were pirated. Same goes here, and you will be identified and brought to justice. Whoever is running this scam, beware.

That is the limit that they set here per day. If you go to the top of the frontpage you can see that there is currently going a donation period where ANY donation gets you unlimited downloads from the day you donate for 30 days. That ends with the start of next month though, so if you are interested you might want to donate NOW.

I usually convert epub to pdf but since this morning the feature just spins its wheels for a few minutes and then returns to the appearance it has when the book's page is first loaded. I have rebooted my computer and tried other browsers and had the same result. Anyone else having this problem?

I have the email that was sent to me yesterday about the donation made on my behalf. This is making me very angry yesterday it was done same thing today, can someone tell me what really going on with this situation. Please correct that in the book request page.

I paid for a premium membership on March 29th and everything was working fine until a couple of days ago when it stopped sending me emails about the books I was downloading onto my kindle app so I can no longer approve and move them to my kindle app anymore. This might be the wrong thread to bring this up. Amazon is discontinuing support of m o b i format on Kindle. What is the plan for moving forward. Will there be an automatic file change in transfer to Kindle upon approval as there is now but with a different format?
